DUXTON HOTEL Okawa Bay on Beautiful Lake Rotoiti Rotorua - North Island

Personal Impression and location:  The Duxton is a good brand name hotel chain in New Zealand and is rated four star.  It is nice to be away from the main town of Rotorua and stay on a peaceful lake.  The hotel is only 15 minutes out of town but a world apart in an idyllic setting and the Duxton is often used for weddings because of the beauty of the area.

Accommodations:  The lodge has 44 rooms and we suggest you select the superior lake view rooms with king size beds (upstairs) two queen beds (downstairs).  All rooms have mini-bars, satellite television, coffee and tea making facilities, hairdryers, iron and ironing board. There are only two floors and no elevator.  The rooms have a large bathroom with large bathtub and separate shower.

Dining: There are no other restaurants around the hotel so most guest dine at the hotel or travel into Rotorua to explore the many restaurants in town.  The hotel restaurant offers the finest and freshest international cuisine and the best of New Zealand wines. Choose to dine inside or on the outdoor terrace overlooking the lake.
