The property:  Eichardts has a long history. First opened in 1867 in the prime lake front area looking at Lake Wakatipu with the Remarkables mountain range in the background this hotel has New Zealand's most exclusive lake front address. Completely refurbished the hotel has kept the character from the past and blended it with spacious rooms with every convenience for today's discerning guests. There is a warm and gracious style that is reflected throughout the entire property.
 

Location: Located in the heart of downtown Queenstown on Marine parade. Sitting on our balcony with a glass of wine as about 25 hang gliders landed on the lake front directly in front of our room I never wanted to leave. Just steps away are many restaurants and shops to wander and enjoy.

Accommodations:  The guest rooms are large, comfortable and have wonderful bathrooms. Rooms feature a fireplace, sitting area,  mini bar, super king size beds and large luxurious bathrooms with a a separate shower and large bathtub complete with candles for complete relaxation and indulgence. The sitting area  features a personal entertainment center and full internet access.

Activities:  The activities in Queenstown are endless. From a cruise on Lake Wakatipu on the old steamship Earnslaw to for dinner or afternoon tea at the St. Nicholas Sheep Station to bungy jumping the choice is yours. This small mountain town has been named "the adventure capital of the world"

Dining: Only breakfast is served at Eichardts. However meals can be bought in from the restaurant next door and they have an extensive menu. The hotel features a bar that is the "in place to be" in Queenstown and snacks are available5 here as well.  The breakfast is wonderful. Beautiful fresh fruits, juices and breads are available and a full cooked to order breakfast is offered.
